Kentucky’s Circuit Courts have jurisdiction
over serious criminal matters called felonies.
These are crimes which carry a possible penalty
of more than one year in prison and include
murder, kidnapping, rape, arson, robbery and
burglary.
Additionally, circuit courts
handle a variety of civil cases such as claims
of medical malpractice, wrongful death actions,
will contests, property ownership disputes,
defective product claims, mortgage foreclosures
and breach of contract actions. These are
serious cases with far reaching consequences.
The job of a Circuit Court Judge is serious
and demanding. It requires an individual with
courage, conviction, common sense, broad
experience, sound judgment and a strong work
ethic.
Martin Sheehan has demonstrated all of
these qualities during his five years as a
Kentucky State Representative and his fourteen
years as a Kenton District Judge.
He is highly regarded as an outstanding
jurist and has earned a solid reputation for his
keen intellect, in-depth research skills and
principled judgment.
